Shopping Intelligence

When someone asks AI "best shoes under $150" and it shows product tiles with prices, Shopping Intelligence tells you if your product was one of them, its position, and the price shown — plus why it was left out if it wasn't.

AI engines don't just recommend brands in text — they show product cards with prices, images, and buy links. Shopping Intelligence tracks when and how your products appear in these AI shopping surfaces.

What AI Shopping Looks Like

When a user asks ChatGPT or Google AI "best wireless earbuds under $100", the AI may show:

Example: ChatGPT Shopping Cards

Allbirds Runner

$120

👟

Nike Pegasus 41

$130

👟

On Cloudmonster

$170

Shopping cards appear inline in AI responses. Position #1 gets the most clicks. A2Z Reach tracks your card position, pricing, and which merchant is attributed.

What We Track

  • Card appearance: Did your product show up in the shopping carousel?
  • Position: Where in the carousel (position 1 = strongest)
  • Pricing: What price was shown — is it accurate vs your actual price?
  • Merchant attribution: Which retailer was linked (your DTC site? Amazon? Walmart?)
  • Product matching: Which specific SKU was shown, matched to your catalog
  • Competitor cards: Which competitor products appeared alongside yours

Why Products Get Excluded from Shopping Cards

If your products DON'T appear in AI shopping results, common reasons include:

ReasonWhat it meansFix
No merchant feedYour products aren't in the AI's shopping graphSubmit product feed to Google Merchant Center / Microsoft Merchant Center
Missing priceNo structured pricing available for the AI to displayEnsure schema.org/Product markup with price on product pages
Out of stockProduct was excluded because availability is "out of stock"Keep availability status accurate in your feed
Not in shopping graphThe AI doesn't recognize this as a purchasable productEnsure product structured data is complete (GTIN, brand, category)

Product-Level Analytics

For e-commerce brands with catalogs, A2Z Reach provides SKU-level tracking:

Example: Allbirds Product Dashboard

ProductVisibilityAvg PositionWin Rate
Tree Flyer12 appearances#2.134%
Tree Runner8 appearances#3.422%
Wool Runner3 appearances#4.010%
Win rate = percentage of shopping queries where this product was the #1 recommendation.

Catalog Integration

To get product-level analytics (Enterprise), connect your product catalog:

  • Shopify: Automatic product sync via store URL
  • Manual feed: Upload CSV with product names, prices, and identifiers
  • API: POST products programmatically

The catalog enables SKU-level matching: when the AI shows "Allbirds Tree Flyer $120", we match it to your catalog record and check if the price is accurate, which retailer is attributed, and whether it's the right product variant.

Attribute Analysis

Beyond presence/absence, Shopping Intelligence analyzes the attributes AI engines compare products on:

  • Facts: Binary attributes (dairy-free ✓, vegan ✓, machine-washable ✓)
  • Characteristics: Qualitative mentions (comfortable, lightweight, durable)
  • Ratings: Numeric scores cited from review sites

This shows which product qualities AI engines value in your category — informing product positioning and feature messaging.

Free vs Paid vs Enterprise

  • Free: No shopping data
  • Starter / Growth / Agency: Product mention tracking (appeared/not, position, price shown)
